The Final Product

Well here it is....1978 and 2010. My mom wins for closest matching ensemble. I win for most embarrassing re-creation.

Father's Day!

First off...I have to say my personal Happy Father's Day to the best Dad in the world. I can go on and on about how wonderful you are. We love so much!

Today was a great day. We started off with gifts for Daddy in the morning. His very cool Grateful Dead Hawaiian shirt was a hit. As were the "saw" shaped knife and "circular saw" pizza cutter. They are hysterical.
Then we headed to Kathy's for an afternoon of fun. The kids had a great time swimming. And the adults had a great time relaxing in the air conditioned house.
Here are some pics of our day. (Including my BBQ cupcakes I made)

School's Out For Summer!

I can't believe it, but the school year is over on Friday. Although this week is pretty much just killing time for them. All the schoolwork is done and they get out at 11:30 everyday.

Ally did a great job this year. Had to be her best school year yet! She received 3 End-of-the-Year Awards this year. The Altar Server Award, another for being part of the award winning Reading Olympics team, and the St. Michael's Award which only goes to a few students who represent what being a good Catholic school student is all about. (Yes, she is my child. No, I'm not kidding. And yes, I have proof!)
We're so proud of all of her hard work.

Summer camp starts on Monday so she will be joining Patrick at Calvary again. She really liked that camp last year, so I'm hoping it's just as much fun this time around. The kids are always so nice to each other (seriously. They are such sweet kids) and they really have a great team of teachers and camp counselors.

We're looking forward to a fun summer. Hopefully we'll be able to get a few fun day trips in. And of course, the cruise!!! I can just feel that tall rum runner in my hand already....

What a big boy!

***Update***

We are so proud of our big boy. We wondered how he would do going to sleep last night. I just had this image of a total meltdown when he realized he had to sleep in this big room alone again. But at 8 o'clock he announced that he was going to bed. We assumed he was just playing around so we let him lay down....asked him if he wanted us to leave the light on....and closed the door. 5 minutes turned into 10 and then 20...and I thought he's either asleep or drawing a masterpiece on his freshly painted wall with poop from his diaper (and yes...Allyson did that at his age). But to our surprise, we opened the door and found him fast asleep in his bed. YAY!!! He really is such a good boy.

Well Patrick slept in his new "big boy" bed last night for the first time! The room isn't done yet, but we had already taken the crib apart and put away, so it was either sleep with Mommy and Daddy or in his own bed. THANKFULLY he wanted to sleep in his new bed.
I just can't believe we are already at this stage. Just doesn't seem possible. But I am coming to terms with it; realizing that it's just not healthy for an 8 year old to be in a crib next to Mommy and Daddy's bed.
We will post pictures of the new finished room soon as well as the ones I took last night of Pat's first night in his new bed.

Memorial Day Weekend

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
We were busy little bees as usual. Saturday I headed into the city with Melissa to help Peggy paint her new place, while Ron and the kids prepped the house for construction. (The building of Patrick's new bedroom)
Sunday the kids were able to enjoy time in the little pool...again, while Ron was working.
And Monday I took the kids out for the day so Ron could have uninterrupted work time. We went to the Popcorn Zoo and to see Grandma Joan and Popeye. It was just so hot at the zoo, so we only lasted an hour. But they had a good time until the sheep...or something that resembled a sheep....grabbed Patrick's box of popcorn out of his hand and ate it. That pretty much ended our time at the zoo.
Overall, great weekend. Although Ron seems to have gotten screwed. His weekend just consisted of work. But it will certainly be worth it in the end. And this weekend, while Ron and Patrick are visiting Grandpa in Arizona, I will be painting and decorating so it is all ready for them when they get home.
